Getting people to the most important destination of all: freedom

For the vast majority of people, using public transport is something taken completely for granted. But for one in seven people in Ireland who are living with a disability, simply being able to get the bus independently can be a life-changing experience. Dublin Bus run an incredible service called the Travel Assistance Scheme to help people attain this independence. The problem is that unless you’ve experienced the scheme, you probably wouldn’t know about it.

When we started researching the Travel Assistance Scheme, we soon discovered there was one remarkable man at its compassionate heart: Dublin Bus employee, Roger Flood. Through his work with the scheme, Roger has given the freedom of the city to more people than just about anyone in Dublin’s history. To highlight the incredible impact of his work, we surprised Roger by reuniting him with just some of the many people he has helped over the years, and by having his achievement officially recognised by the Lord Mayor of Dublin.

People who had benefitted from the scheme became the voice of the campaign. Their sheer love for Roger and the Travel Assistance Scheme said more than we ever could.
